Switching From Texting Betty, LeadEngage, or Agent Legend? Here's What to Expect
February 24, 2026
If you're currently using Texting Betty, LeadEngage, Agent Legend, or StreetText with Follow Up Boss, you've already done the hard part: setting up your FUB action plans with text tasks. Switching to SendMate doesn't undo any of that work.
Your Action Plans Stay the Same
This is the most common question we get, so let's address it first: you do not need to change your FUB action plans.
SendMate reads your FUB text tasks — the same tasks your current service reads. Your action plan triggers, timing, and message templates all stay exactly as they are. The only thing that changes is which tool sends the texts.
What Actually Changes
| Before (Most Services) | After (SendMate) | |
|---|---|---|
| Texts sent from | Separate Twilio number | Your own FUB number |
| Your data stored | Their cloud servers | Your local machine |
| Monthly cost | $149-$600+ (per-text fees) | Flat monthly fee |
| Setup fee | $0-$499 | $0 |
| Landline detection | Usually not included | Built in |
| Holiday hold | Limited or none | Full calendar with custom dates |
The Migration Steps
- Cancel your current service. Most services cancel immediately or at end of billing cycle.
- Download and install SendMate. Available for Mac (Windows and Linux coming soon).
- Connect your FUB account. Enter your FUB credentials — takes 30 seconds.
- Configure your send window. Set your start/end times, active days, and text interval.
- Start sending. Your FUB tasks load automatically and SendMate begins working through them.
Total time: about 5 minutes.
What About My Existing Text History?
Your FUB conversation history is unaffected. All previous texts — whether sent manually, through your old service, or through SendMate — live in your FUB contact records. Nothing is lost in the transition.
Frequently Asked Questions From Switchers
"Will my leads notice?" They'll notice texts are now coming from your actual FUB number instead of a random Twilio number. That's a good thing.
"Do I lose my bracket tag support?" If you were using bracket tags like [scheduled] or [9am] in note-based action plans, SendMate supports those too. Your existing action plans work identically.
"What about my team?" SendMate currently supports individual accounts. Team/multi-seat licensing is coming soon. For now, each agent needs their own installation.
The Bottom Line
Switching texting services feels like it should be complicated. It's not. Your FUB action plans are the backbone of your follow-up system, and they don't change. You're just swapping out the tool that reads those tasks and sends the texts — for one that costs less, uses your own number, and keeps your data on your machine.
